on learning of further bereavements
News in the last couple of weeks of two friends who have died suddenly - shockingly sudden - and too soon. I know this is not an uncommon event, but these are not statistics. None of them are. I cannot make much sense of life and death so I play with words. They are not profound but they help steer me towards what matters in this moment, to be there for those who most need comfort. Further Bereavements
Two down last week –
Good men and true.
Outlook still bleak –
Skies seldom blue.
These days feel rough –
Foreseen – we knew –
We must be tough
To journey through.
Such strength needs love
In all we do –
Warm fist, iron glove –
I stand with you.
